The Providence of God

In spite of all that is going on in this world, individuals are still living a sinful and Godless life. Example: When 9-11 took place, all of the United States was deeply hurt and filled with remorse. All across our Nation; Individuals either started going to worship, or, started praying. All of us at that time felt the impact of this event and some came to realize why.

With that said; there are other tragic times that will have the same result. The question is; “Why does it take such catastrophic events to bring about an awareness of our life, in regards’ with living a more Godly Life”? After the dust settles down, as the saying goes, we go back to our everyday activity as if nothing has happened and think all is well and forget about Gods’ way of life.

“When God sends such events in our lives, He is giving us a warning as He did to the Israelites. They spent forty years in the wilderness for their unfaithfulness. The bondage the Israelites had while in Egypt was, intermarried with other people and adapted their religion or adopted new beliefs based on the society they lived in or the tribes they married into. By the time Moses and Aaron came along to lead them out of Egypt, very little of their previous belief system remained and there was little consistency in what did remain.

One of the purposes of the wilderness experience of the Israelites was their re-education in the ways of God. They needed the time to learn again about God and His expectations of them. Separated and cut off from the rest of the world, the Israelites classroom was the desert. Here they had to learn again to communicate with God, rely on God, follow God and accept provision from God. Their survival depended on the rebuilding of their faith. The wilderness was their opportunity to restore their relationship and intimacy with God.

Today, we go through what are known as wilderness experiences. These are the times in our lives when we feel most separated from God. We feel abandoned and alone. We feel spiritually dry. During these times, we too must learn to rely on God for provision, comfort, and guidance and deepen our communication with Him. Ironically, it is when we feel most cut off from God that we are closest to Him. Just as when the Israelites were in the wilderness, feeling cut off and abandoned but being provided for at the most basic levels, so are we”. Yes, it’s true that there are events that will take place “but” we look and think that it’s just an act of nature. That’s true to a point. But, we need to think outside the box and look at the big picture. Individuals living outside of Gods’ teachings needs to realize, God is in control of “Everything” both earth and Heaven.

Psalms 103: 19; 66:7 / Matthew 5: 45 / Hebrew 1:3

1). God’s works of providence are his most holy, wise, and powerful preserving and governing all his creatures and all their actions. Providence, therefore, includes preservation and government. By preservation is meant that all things out of God owe the continuance of their existence, with all their properties and powers, to the will of God. See…Christian Classics Ethereal Library

2). Divine providence is the means by and through which God governs all things in the universe. The doctrine of divine providence asserts that God is in complete control of all things. This includes the universe as a whole (Psalm 103:19), the physical world (Matthew 5:45), the affairs of nations (Psalm 66:7), human birth and destiny (Galatians 1:15), human successes and failures (Luke 1:52), and the protection of His people (Psalm 4:8). When we take our family on a vacation trip, we might encounter a tragic accident. Then we stop and thank God within ourselves, or to each other, for keeping us safe and we might pray for those who lost their life. “But” once again, we go back to our everyday activity as if nothing has happened and think all is well and forget about Gods’ way of life and forgetting, at times, God is in control of “Everything”.

You may be wondering what’s does all of this have to do with, how things are going on today? You may be wondering, “Why are such catastrophic events taking place if God is in control”? God has only one thing in mind by allowing these things to take place. It’s to bring about awareness to those that are living outside the bondage of safety Isaiah 58:6. He wishes that All will come to repentance and be saved.

When we seek out our on interest instead of God, sometimes bad and catastrophic events will take place. When we do things our own why, God will not bless us like He wants to, either as a Nation or as individuals.

“Righteousness exalteth a nation; But sin is a reproach to any people” (Proverbs 14: 34).
“When the wicked cometh, there cometh also contempt, and with ignominy [cometh] reproach” (Proverbs 18: 3).

So; my question’s for you is this. How will you give your life to and how will you live it out each and every day? Will it be for the God of this world [Satan] “or” the God of the universe [Lord and Savior Jesus Christ]?
